McCall Zerboni was born in Camarillo, California. She was a four letter-winner at San Clemente High School and was named CIF offensive player of the year during her freshman and sophomore years. A three-time South Coast league MVP and a Gatorade Player of the year in 2005. She was also selected and became a four-time All-Orange County. Zerboni attended UCLA and played for the Bruins women’s soccer team from 2005 to 2009. She developed her skills and became the 16th player to register a Hat Trick in UCLA history during a 5-0 win over Fresno State in the first round of the 2008 NCAA Tournament. McCall was chosen as the 47th pick overall in the 2009 WPS Draft by Los Angeles Sol.

She has had a strong mentality and a great attitude to keep developing since her High School years. She was signed to the Atlanta Beat during the 2009 WPS expansion draft and has been improving ever since. Her high IQ of the soccer game made her one of the best midfielders on the league. Later on, Western New York Flash signed her on 2011, where she played until 2015. Portland Thorns FC acquires her on 2015 and then trades her to the Boston Breakers. She played there for almost a year before heading back to Western New York Flash. The team was rebranded and sold to new ownership in North Caroline. McCall was called up to the United States senior team in 2017. She is currently training to attend to the France women World Cup.

McCall Zerboni quotes

“Soccer for young females is one of the biggest sports in the world right now. Opportunity is at an all-time high for young girls interested in growing with the game. Proper training is now available to the youth with a football program like Kaptiva Sports Academy. With top tier coaches integrating the athletes into their professionally run programs, the youth has a chance to take their game to the next level”

“I had the opportunity to be coached by Pedro Losa for a couple years and his knowledge, wisdom, and technical training aspects helped sharpen my game greatly. As a long time women’s professional soccer player, Pedro made a large impact on my career. I am happy to see those young girls have an opportunity with a coach like Pedro and an academy like Kaptiva and attend camps to reach their potential. I recommend all aspiring soccer players to become a part of this wonderful program!”
